Why inquiring the perception of corrupting among citizens?

The Center for Monitoring and - CEMA has started the implementation of the project "CITIZENS’ MONITORING OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN ?A?AK". The project is supported by the European Endowment for Democracy, based in Brussels.

The project seeks to enhance transparency, openness and accountability of the public administration by supporting a comprehensive model for combating corruption at the local level. The aim of the project is to launch an initiative to establish a Local Anti-Corruption Forum in Cacak. 

The Project envisages the realization of research and analysis of citizens' and local authorities' perceptions of corruption at the local level and ways to prevent them, as well as its impact on the efficiency of public administration. Since successful fight against corruption also implies active involvement of citizens, one aspect of the research is dedicated to questioning citizens' perceptions of corruption in their local self-government.

In addition to providing exact data, our project task is to encourage all structures of society to start solving the identified corruption phenomena at the local level. The first segment of the research, in pdf format, can be downloaded from this site (available in Serbian).
